Well if you haven’t noticed, my posting has gotten a little sporadic over the past couple of weeks. I’ve been rather overwhelmed by a whole lot of different things lately.

Sadly, it does not appear that there is an end to the madness in sight. So bear with me for a bit, I will keep posting, just less frequently, as time allows…

I guess I’m slowing down in my old age… LOL

    I was wondering.

Do you do anything with firearms?

I found an interesting katar with a set of flintlock pistols on it.
Haven’t seen anything like that before.

If not that, then katars in general.

    =D

    Hey Aaron

I do indeed do firearms. Not usually by themselves, however combination blades and firearms, most certainly! Please, post or email me links, pics, whatever, I live for that stuff…! 😀

well whats ur take on battle axes?

i came up with a very unpractical, but extremely satisfying design that me and a friend put together, its amazing and somewhat upsurd!!!

  10. October 14, 2008 at 10:06 pm

Well, I have no beef with battle axes. And they can actually be of quite unusual designs and still be practical. You got pics?

    Hey Strudel,
It really depends on what you are looking at blades for…

    Well Phyreblade,

Im not to sure how active this site is but as of late I’ve been worried about something and as such decided I need methods to defend myself. Now I read the rules, and it looks as though your ‘take’ on realistic weapons could help me very much. Im not to sure of the exact term nor the probability to which Im asking, But im looking to craft a knife + glove (lame i know but its best way i can describe it) It would need to be a 4 – 7 inch blade, I dont care about retracting it more worried about concealing it and then at the needed time have it ‘release’ into the open with minimal effort. Id expect to be wearing a long sleeve shirt so the length of the glove/straps ect are irrelevant just the weight and the actual deadliness of said weapon. If you have the knowledge to aid me, please do so. Its intended as a last resort defence tactic, not an offensive ploy.

    Hey Erit.

Honestly, I don’t think knives are not the ideal self defense weapon. Yes, in trained hands they *can* be, but they require much more training and thought to be used properly that way.

I would advise you to get a small hand gun instead, If you can afford it, both because they are much easier to work with from a legal perspective, and is more flexible as a defense weapon. If you are dead set on the knife route, don’t go all nuts with fancy retraction mechanisms and so on. Get a good 4 inch folder with a pocket clip, and an easy to use ambidextrous opening mechanism, keep it sharp, do not use it for anything else, and learn how to draw and open it very quickly from your pocket.

If you have to have a concealed fixed blade, then get a good sheath, with a secure but simple to operate blade retention system, and strap it to the inside of your forearm. All of this automatic stuff is nice, but it is also just more to break in an emergency, could snag on a cuff much easier, etc.

And regardless of whether you decide to go with firearm or a blade, you should get trained. Preferably by a professional. Not only how to use them properly, but also how to use your head under stress. A weapon is worthless unless you know how to use them properly, to their full advantage, and equally importantly when not to use them. As I’ve told many others, your best defense is your head, supplemented by your eyes, ears and legs.

This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I’d rather give you advice that might be more helpful than just tell you what you want to hear…

Erit , for concealment and/or legal perspective .. i’d advise you to get a sturdy screwdriver
preferably 4 point tip , and rubber handle , black steel going all the way through handle , maybe even with a metal pommel …
and if u ever need to use it … grab the guy with the other hand , then aim for the neck and only stab once(/per target) .

    happy school days … eh

man you guys get really into this stuff i look at all these things and wish i was able to make these things but sadly im not very smart so im probably not the best guy to have make some of the weapons u have here but their so amazing looking as for the whole idea’s everyone has for certain weopens are actually really good (such as making the buster sword out of titanium rather then steel but thats just what ive noticed) aw well thats it

My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find many of your post’s to be precisely what I’m looking for.
Would you offer guest writers to write content available for
you? I wouldn’t mind publishing a post or elaborating on some of the subjects you write related to here. Again, awesome website!
